Driving Digital Transformation in Trinidad and Tobago

At Nio, we believe that driving progress and growth in the digital economy in Trinidad and Tobago requires a new approach. 

We have done extensive work in the field, digitalizing hundreds of companies and training thousands of business and IT professionals and have seen the challenges firsthand.

On the one hand the availability of Digital Commerce and ERP software to business is limited and on the other, there are not many skilled professionals with the experience needed to develop and operate these digital systems.

We believe that our Digital Economy Accelerator program can help.

Our Digital Economy Accelerator program is designed to create a virtuous relationship between businesses seeking digital transformation and young professionals seeking work in technology. We leverage open source software and an open learning management system to provide businesses with the tools and resources they need to digitalize their operations. This approach helps businesses overcome the barrier of expensive proprietary software licences, and also enables them to customize software to their specific needs.

At the same time, we provide young business and technology professionals with the skills and expertise they need to work in digital. Our open learning management system enables learners to access digital skills training and certification courses for free. This approach helps to close the skills gap in the technology industry and ensure that businesses have access to the talent they need to succeed.

By creating a marketplace that connects businesses seeking digital transformation with young people seeking work in technology, we create a virtuous relationship that drives progress and growth in the digital economy. As businesses adopt digital solutions, they create new opportunities for young people to gain practical experience and develop their skills. As more young people enter the technology workforce, they drive innovation and create new digital solutions that can benefit businesses and society as a whole.

Our Digital Economy Accelerator program is currently in development, and we are making some progress using our own, limited resources. However, we know that to scale this program to a national level, we will need funding and partnerships. We are seeking support from investors and organizations who share our vision for driving digital transformation and skills development in Trinidad and Tobago.
